How do I install CaseWare on my laptop?
- Ensure you save your work, that your web browser, local CaseWare and Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc… are all closed.
- Click “Start”.
- Go to the “Company Portal”.
- Select " CaseWare Working Papers 2024”.
- Click “Install” (see below)
- Allow install to run. This I expect to take 30mins or so.
Some things to note are
Where you see the below screenshot saying “installing” this means downloading and that it has downloaded 87% of the install package.
Something like the below will come up and prompt you to save your work before clicking “Close Apps & Install” which will close Excel, Word, and Outlook in this case.
You should see the below while all the Caseware components are being installed.
You will notice that you can see more of the install as it happens (screens like the below screenshot). Please allow this to run and do not accidently cancel it by pressing a key on the keyboard
You should see the below prompting you to click “Ok” when done and the company portal saying “Installed”
FAQ
-
- My Menzies document library has disappeared after update? – In order to fix this issue please click on the document library from the home tab, select Menzies document library from the drop down as usual. Click the button to the right which should say convert, this should now load all the usual Menzies documents.
- I can no longer see the roles and sign offs on my screen? - right click on the top bar and select show and select the roles.
- If you are doing cross office work, then it would be wise to leave the client you are working on in the older version until that office runs the update. You can access the client via citrix which will remain on Working Papers 2023 until the last office runs the update.
- When you first go into a client you may get the below msg (only if you already have a sync copy downloaded). This is normal and you should do a backup prior to converting the parent copy on the cloud. The highlighted location below is the correct location and can be used; however, I have been told it can be quicker to do the backup locally to your desktop. If you do this, you MUST copy the backup to the location highlighted below as this will ensure it gets backed up centrally.
