My password has expired, or I have forgotten it. I need to reset it.
If you have Citrix apps running - please close them before beginning
(for eg. CCH, IPS, Payroll etc)
STEP 1: RESET PASSWORD
Press CTL + ALT + DELETE and then select Change a password.
You may be prompted to login via Authenticator app or whatever option you have chosen.
If your Authenticator app isn't setup or working (eg, deleted app or new phone - please contact IT to get this re-setup).
You can check or setup here: Microsoft Authenticator app
You can select the option 'Authenticate another way' at the bottom, which will allow you to use Text or email or any options you have setup, if the app doesn't work currently.
You will then be prompted to enter a new password:
The password rules are:
Must be at least 10 Characters.
Must have characters from three of the following four types, A-Z, a-z, 0-9, non-alphabetical characters (e.g. !,$,#,%).
Cannot contain more than two consecutive characters from your Username or full name.
This password will expire 90 days after it is set, you will start to be prompted 14 days in advance of expiry that it needs to be changed and you will be required to do so on the 90th day if you have not already done so.
You will not be able to reuse your last 24 Menzies passwords.
Examples of acceptable passwords, D@redevil25, Tony@Stark5, Never?Give2You6Up.
Refer to your IT Security training. Pass phrases are great!
IF YOU DO NOT GET THE SAME AS ABOVE, THEN PLEASE FOLLOW THIS ALTERNATIVE METHOD:
Open Edge and go to the My Accounts page in Microsoft (https://myaccount.microsoft.com/) and login as normal.
Or you can access it from MyApps page on your laptop by clicking in the top right (profile picture or initials), Then go to View account:
Where it says Password press Change Password
And you should then see the similar screen mentioned earlier.
STEP 2: CONFIRM PASSWORD CHANGE
Lock your laptop (WINDOWS + L) and then see if you can log back in with your new password. If so, great! That's all done.
If you can't login or you log back in with your old password - please contact IT.
